Privacy Policy

Husham Courses (the “App”) is an educational platform for Iraqi school students operated by the Husham Courses team (the “Service”, “we”, “us”). This page explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you can request access or deletion.

1. Information we collect

When you register and use the App, we collect:

• Account details — phone number (used as your login), full name, password (stored as a hash, never plain text).
• Profile information — guardian phone number, province, grade level, and an optional profile photo you upload.
• Learning activity — which classes you are enrolled in, video watch progress, quiz attempts, and scores.
• Messages and safety reports — chat messages you send or receive, reports you submit, and conversation blocks you choose. These records support message delivery and student safety.
• Technical data — a device identifier that ties your session to a single device (to prevent shared logins), and standard server logs (IP address, request times, error logs) used for security and debugging.

2. How we use it

• To run the App: authenticate you, show your classes, sync your progress, and deliver messages.
• To keep your account secure: detect suspicious activity, refresh sessions, and limit one account to one device at a time.
• To protect students: enforce conversation blocks and let authorised administrators review reported messages.
• To improve the App: aggregate usage statistics. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

3. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. The App embeds video lessons hosted on Vimeo; when you watch a lesson, Vimeo’s servers will see standard playback requests from your device. Vimeo’s privacy policy applies to that part of the session (vimeo.com/privacy). We do not share other personal data with third parties except where required by law.

4. Children

Many of our users are school students. We collect only the data needed to provide the educational service. We do not use your data for behavioural advertising or profiling. If you are a parent or guardian and want to review or delete a child’s account, contact us at the address below.

5. Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, enrollments, watch progress, quiz attempts, sessions, and chat messages within 30 days. Aggregated and anonymised statistics may remain.

6. Your rights

• Access & correction — open the App, go to Settings → Profile, and edit your name, photo, or password.
• Deletion — open the App, go to Settings → Delete account. If you cannot access the App, use the Account Deletion page.
• Questions — email us using the contact details below.

7. Security

All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed. Access to the production database is limited to authorised administrators.

8. Changes

If we update this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify users inside the App.
